Introduction Welcome to the website of the South West
Cumbria Methodist
Circuit (SWECC) and the Furness United Reformed Church Pastorate.
Together the 2 denominations have 13 churches in the Furness Peninsula and
spread round the Duddon Estuary in South Cumbria stretching from Millom on the
western side of this tidal system, round through Broughton, Kirkby,
Askam, Dalton and Barrow before ending nearly 30 miles away on the Island of
Walney and the Church at Vickerstown.
The Churches are supported by 1 full time
Methodist ministers, a deacon, a non-stipendary minister and 2 full
time ministers and one non-stipendary
minister from the United Reformed Church (URC) pastorate.
The Methodist Church Circuit is one of 16 within the Methodist District of Cumbria and the URC churches belong to the Cumbrian District of the United Reformed Church North Western Synod Please take a look at the different churches
