Church Centre is a joint Methodist and URC church situated on Abbey Road, the main
road through Barrow. However, the entrance is off Warwick Street where there is some parking. ServicesThere are two each Sunday. They are 10:30 each Sunday morning, upstairs in the main church and and an evening one in the downstairs "Abbey Chapel". This service at 6:00 pm during British Summer Time,and at 4.00 pm when the clocks change to Greenwich Mean Time. These usually has a smaller congregation, and generally has a quieter feel to the service. At present the church membership is 167. On the 2nd Sunday in each month, the evening service is usually a "Healing Service"Events in this ChurchUsual Monthly Coffee Morning: Saturday 5th June, 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. Annual Coffee Morning at the Coronation Hall, Ulverston: Thursday 24th June. 9:30 a.m. - noon. It is with sadness we report the deaths of Syd Pridmore, Sheila Morrell and Win Angel. They will be greatly missed but we know that they are now at peace and take comfort from that. We are glad to report that Brian Whittaker has had his hip replacement and is now well on the road to recovery. You are invited to other events around the Circuit / PastorateCOG Slog This year our friends at Hartington Street Methodist Church, Barrow, are hosting this event. The walk will set off from Hartington Street Church at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 27th. There will be a faith tea at 5:00 p.m. and the joint service will follow at 6:00 p.m. We hope that we will be able to make use of the recently developed land next to the church for an open air service. Network's Summer Event will be at Dalton Wellington Street Church, 7.30pm on Thursday, June 24th. It is to be a Floral Demonstration kindly given by Ladies of the flower club who meet on the Church premises. Tickets are available in all the churches, at £2.50 including refreshments. There will also be a Bring and Buy stall. Strawberry tea: This annual event will be held at Millom Methodist Chapel on Friday 2nd July from 3pm - 5pm. Money raised will be for Action for Children. There will be stalls and a raffle. We are hoping for a summer’s day! |
