ContactsThe minister with pastoral charge for this church is the Rev. Janet Calderley. She is assisted by Rev Ron Wilson and the Church Secretary. We now have a website and our link is hereServicesRamsden Street Church is a very warm and comfortable building. The small congregation, of about 18 adults, is very friendly, which makes for an intimate but nevertheless welcoming atmosphere. We are very Ecumenically minded, working closely with other denominations of the local Churches and particularly with the local Methodist Circuit, which supplies us with a number of both lay and ordained preachers. We therefore enjoy varying worship styles, and include both infant and believer's baptism in our tradition (an open baptistry is on view). Ramsden Street United Reformed Church has a service each Sunday morning starting at 10:45. This includes the Sacrament of Holy Communion. However, on the 1st Sunday in each month there are two services. Communion at 10:30 and All Age Worship at 11:15. During the services we use the Good News Bible and the hymn book Rejoice and Sing.Regular Midweek ActivitiesOur midweek activities are well supported, especially the Wednesday afternoon Ladies Meeting which attracts various speakers. There is a Free Friday Coffee Morning - from 10:30 till 12:00 - where shoppers and passers-by alike drop in for a cuppa and a chat. There is a Monday Evening programme for children. At present there are about 6 children under the age of 18.We now have a website and our link is here Other Events Around the PatchYou are invited to:-Anita Shaw: It is hoped the Circuit and Pastorate will support Nita Shaw at her Welcome Service as a Deacon at St Annes in September. The service is at The Drive Methodist Church in Lytham St Annes on 6th September at 6pm. A coach has been booked and seats will cost no more than £10 return; to book a seat please contact Charlie (825817). The coach will leave Barrow around 3:00 p.m. - a detailed list of pick up points and times will be circulated. The folk at St Annes are putting on an afternoon tea for us at 5:00 p.m. Praise Group invite you to join us, we are looking for new members. We meet at Hartington Street Methodist Church at 7.30pm each week on Mondays, except during school holidays. We sing a range of sacred and secular music, from musicals to spirituals, perform in a variety of venues and in the process have lots of fun, fellowship outreach & witness. You don’t have to have a brilliant voice and you can learn to understand the music– just be able to sing in tune and be willing to learn new songs. We look forward to seeing you. During 2010 we may be joining with Methodist and URC singers from around the County to celebrate our links with South America. If you would like any more information, ask anyone who is in Praise Group already or phone me on 839967. Gill |
