The minister with pastoral charge for this church is The Rev. Martin Williams and is supported by Deacon Tom Luke. You can contact Martin on 01229 830844, or Tom on 01229 832263 if you'd like to arrange a baptism, wedding or funeral. ServicesThere are two services at this church each Sunday. The main one is at 10:00am, when there is also a Sunday School. The children come into the service for the first 10 to 15 minutes and then they leave to do their various activities. The whole service lasts about an hour. About once a month we have Family /Parade services, which is follwed by refreshments. Look on the notice board, or come to church and collect a plan, for details of these and other special services. There is another service at 6:00 pm, which usually has a smaller congregation, and generally has a quieter feel to the service. The church has disabled access, a loop system, and large print hymn books available at services. At present the church membership is about 85. Over the next few weeks we will be looking at Paul’s letters to the Corinthians, studying one chapter every week. Anyone interested is welcome to come along and join us. The Network Summer Effort is at Beacon Hill on Thursday 18th June when Furness Chorale will entertain us. Coffee Mornings to support Network have been organised so far for the following dates: Thursday 31st July - Beacon Hill Saturday 9th August - at Dalton URC, hosted by E Pears & M Dawson. District Summer Event - 16th July, 2pm at Grange-over-Sands Methodist Church, theme - Journeying with God. Other Events Around the PatchYou are invited to:-Local Preachers’ Refresher Sessions All meetings start at 7:30 p.m. and aim to finish at or before 9:00 p.m. This year, we are looking at the Minor Prophets. The two remaining sessions are: 22/7/2008: led by John Sheldon at 19 Carlton Avenue on Micah 16/9/2008: led by Bob Mantle at Dalton on Amos (please note change of date). A Grand Charity Concert will take place in Trinity Church Centre on Friday July 25th at 7:00p.m. featuring:- Barry Scott A STAGE and RADIO Singer from Blackpool with mainly Popular Songs & Ballads of the 1950’s and 60’s. Jessie Conway (MEZZO SOPRANO) Competition Award Winner at this years South Cumbria Music Festival and nominee in this years forthcoming Keldwyth Singers Award. Askam School Flute Group A most entertaining group on Flute and Piano, and winners of “Music Makers” class at this years South Cumbria Music Festival.
